Issue #5 February 2003

LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
One of our objectives when we initiated this publication was to be heard of and to get some feed back. Well that part is definitely a success and we just wish that it will go on that way.
In this issue:
A frequently asked question : What is resilex made of ? Read "Rubber, which is the real rubber ?"

Even though I didn't have a chance to read it, I know that Luc wrote an article on me as part of the Bleutec Team presentation. "Hey boss, be nice with me … !

Offshore fabrication. It seems to be everywhere and those who get away without adapting are minority. Find out about our new Economax serie by Luc Turcotte.

Finally a new catalog reflecting the American market needs.

Colleague of the month

Our dear Frederic. How can we present to you our friend Frederic, knowing that he is already well-known by many of our readers?
He’s been with us for over 7 years, and today we qualify him as a caster technician. Some say that it took him some time to learn or understand, but those who really know Frederic will tell you that he is a perfectionist. Always tuned in to his customers, Frederic loves his job.
Dynamic, cheerful, and hard-working, he is always looking for a new challenge. Today, his territory covers 52 states that represent enormous potential for our products. Responsible for developing the American caster market, Frederic is enjoying himself like a fish in water, even if at times his small insecurity side resurfaces.
We are all proud to be considered his friends, and if you are one of his customers, you will always be satisfied of his work.

Thought for the month of February:

A smile doesn't cost anything but brings in a lot. It enriches the one receiving it without impoverishing the one giving it.

Already February, and the Bleutec USA team is ready for Promat. The show is held from February 10 through to the 13th at McCormick Place in Chicago. Luc, Frederic, and Nancy will be at the Bleutec booth (#2449) where they will show the complete line of products, including the new Economax series.
Bleutec’s west coast distributor, Inertial Dynamics, will accompany Bleutec in the efforts to develop the American caster market.
If you’re at Promat, please make sure you stop in to say hello.
Don’t forget to check the next issue of the leader.com – we’ll surely have pictures from the show!

New mini-catalogue

For the past few months, we’ve been talking about producing a new Bleutec mini-catalogue.
Finally, it has arrived and we’re pretty happy with the results.
In order to make life a little easier for our distributors, this mini-catalogue is made up of our best selling products. Of course, other wheels and casters are always available and you can see them on our Web site (www.bleutec.com) and by calling our salespeople and order department.
Please ask your salesperson for copies of the new mini-catalogue. Also, our offer from the leader.com’s October issue for Bleutec 3-ring binders, is still available

New Economax Series

Still new, although it’s been almost a year now, is Bleutec’s line of Asian wheels and casters that make up the Economax series. Over the years, customers have asked for phenolic, moldon rubber, or polyurethane casters.
In pursuit of our objectives, we wanted to be assured of the quality of the products and of the suppliers before widely publicizing the new series. The past year has given us the opportunity to do quality control tests at some of our customers, and today we’re convinced of the seriousness of the suppliers which has led Bleutec to establish partnerships with them.
Feel free to call us with your requests for our wide range of Economax casters.

Rubber, which is the real rubber ?

What is the difference between the Resilex tm wheel and other rubber wheels found in today’s market? The answer is the origin of the wheel, and the quality of rubber that is used.
The definition of rubber is: an elastic substance obtained by coagulating milky juice of various tropical plants (as of the genera Hevea and Ficus); is prepared as sheets and then dried. (Reference: Merriam-Webster).
Natural rubber is superior to other traditional materials (i.e. plastic). No other substitute product matches the elasticity, traction, resistance to cold, abrasion, and impact of rubber. Furthermore, natural rubber is recyclable.
There are copies of the blue Resilex wheel, but by using synthetic materials to manufacture the copies, the high quality of Resilex can not be attained.
Be carefull !!!!

Saint Valentine’s Day…almost 1500 years old!

In early 200, young men were prohibited to get married because it was believed that single men made better soldiers. A priest, named Valentine, disobeyed the emperors’ orders, and secretly wed young couples. According to some, Valentine was executed on February 14th, around the year 269. Pope Delasse I, some 200 years later, decided to devote February 14th to Valentine.
