LETTER
FROM THE EDITOR
Did
you happen to miss reading the leader.com last
month? If so, we apologize for us skipping a month,
but things have been quite hectic with the signing
of new partnerships.
In this summer edition of
the leader, we are both proud and pleased to present
to you , Blickle, a German manufacturer who is
well known for its dynamism, research and development,
and efforts put to solving the most complex problems
of rollability in today’s material handling
world.
The
next 2 months will be used for recuperating, and
regaining our energy, so watch out for us in full
strength in September with new products and news.
Enjoy your summer,
and don’t forget to take it easy too.
Signed,
Luc Turcotte

Our new partnership
During
the last few weeks, we probably have told you
that we have a new partnership with Blickle.
Since
May, Blickle, a German wheel and caster manufacturer,
has become Bleutec’s new partner and together,
it will give us the opportunity to offer you
a wide range of innovative wheels and casters.
Who is Blickle?
Blickle
was founded in 1953, and in just over 50 years,
has become one of Europe’s leading wheel
and caster manufacturer. The Rosenfeld-based
company employs approximately 500 people, and
Blickle boasts a range of over 20,000 types
of wheels and casters, with weight capacities
ranging from 30 lbs. to 20 tons. Their casters
are distributed to over 80 countries.

At
Blickle, continuous effort is put towards reinventing
the wheel, which coincides perfectly with Bleutec’s
own image and motto, “the art of improving,
a never ending story “.

| Distributor
of the month :

Équipements
Industriels Joliette Inc. (Joliette Industrial
Equipment Inc.)
Founded
in 1970, Equipement Industriel Joliette specializes
in the distribution of various industrial products
and equipment. A very important development step
was achieved when EIJ became Quebec’s exclusive
distributor for Carr Lane, an American tool manufacturer.
Furthermore, part of their sales activities has
merged with VISCAN fasteners since 1997.

Bleutec
has proudly been one of EIJ’ s caster suppliers
since the early 1990’s and we certainly
plan to remain in this position in the future.
We
take this opportunity to thank EIJ for their invitation
to their open house held this past April, where
Bleutec was the caster supplier of choice during
the event. Their open house took place to commemorate
EIJ’s third major expansion since 1991.

Resilex
and Terminal 1
Welcome
to the June edition of the leader. This month,
my writing has switched from racing to casters,
specifically the 6 inch blue Resilex™
caster.
Yes,
6 inch blue Resilex™ casters are part
of the decor at Toronto’s new terminal
1 at Pearson International Airport. 2 swivel
and 2 rigid casters are set up on carts that
are used to transport goods to the terminal’s
stores and boutiques.

During my last trip to
Toronto, I caught up with one of the carts that
was being rolled around. I did my journalist’s
job and asked the gentleman who was pushing
the cart what he thought about the cart and
its rollability. He said, “Great!”
That’s really good news, because Terminal
1’s floor plan covers 4.2 million square
feet!
Most of you may already
know that Resilex™ is well-known for its
low starting effort, and most importantly for
new terminals such as T1 where most of the flooring
is ceramic tiles, that they are non-marking
and maintenance-free. Hopefully we’ll
see more and more blue Resilex™ casters
in airports across North America!

Enjoy the month of June!

HIGH TEMPERATURE WHEELS

My
mission is to inform our readers about our new
innovative casters, therefore this is the first
part of a two-part article about true problem
solvers: the Blickle HOT
and the Blickle HOTLINE-SPECIAL
heat-resistant wheels.
The first wheel I am writing
about is the Blickle
Hot™. This wheel's temperature
range is from -22° F to +392° F (-30°C
to + 200°C).

The most uncommon detail
about this heat resistant wheel is that it is
a soft rubber tread (80 shore A). The HOT™
wheel answers the need where floor saving, low
vibration and low noise characteristics are
required. Also, the rubber tread is fitted onto
a zinc plated steel hub and the roller bearing
is lubricated with a high temperature grease,
which ensures that the wheel will remain maintenance-free
under normal operating conditions. In addition
to this, the outside edges of the hub are folded
inward to ensure that the grease stays in the
hub. (pix)
The
Blickle Hot™
wheel is offered in the following diameters:
4, 5, 6 and 8". These following links will
provide additional information in regards to
these wheels (www.page330.pdf)
and casters (www.page331.pdf)
Please do not hesitate
to contact us to find out about our prices as
the "HOT wheels"
are now available from our inventory in Montreal.
Look out for more about heat resistant wheels
in our next edition.

Attention
all travelers!
I found this Web site, www.seatguru.com
for plane seat assignments, and thought that
we’d share the link with you for your
next business trip or vacation. It can be pretty
handy when it comes time to decide on seat selections.
