LETTER
FROM THE EDITOR
Our friend
Frederic has decided to concentrate on his numerous
customers, and is leaving his position as editor
of the leader.com. In order to maintain his high
standards, I’ve decided to take over as
editor for the upcoming year.
It’s already been one
year that our committee reunites once a month
to get this newsletter ready with the latest news,
information about our customers, our team, Guitel,
etc. We hope that you enjoy reading the leader.com
as much as we enjoy preparing it for you.
The upcoming year will bring
new articles and you should keep a watchful eye
on our newsletter as we have been putting together
a couple of surprises.
This month, we have an article
written by Andre about volunteer work and its
importance. We continue our introductions of the
Bleutec team with an article about Nancy, who
has been with us for 2 years now. Also, we bring
stories about our customers’ success with
our casters on their mobile equipment. Frederic,
who continues to write his articles, shares his
travel experiences and gives a couple of helpful
hints to those of you who travel.
Happy reading and have
a great month of November!
Signed,
Luc Turcotte

| Colleague
of the month
In the past
6 editions of our newsletter, we’ve presented
the Bleutec men to you. This month, it’s
our pleasure to bring a little femininity and
introduce Nancy.
Part of the Bleutec team
for over 2 years now, Nancy quickly integrated
with the group, and her efficiency has led her
to live new experiences. Initially, Nancy was
to be the internal technical support for our English
speaking customers, but with her enthusiasm and
desire to learn, we had to provide her with new
challenges in order to meet her expectations.
Today, Nancy is responsible for developing our
Wheelmax and Bleutec Wheels & Casters divisions,
and the results have proven that we made the right
decision.
Those of you who know her
will tell you that her dynamism, enthusiasm, and
good mood are contagious. At Bleutec, we are unanimous
to say that she is important to Bleutec’s
success.
Oh yes, Happy Birthday Nancy,
who turns one year older on November 3rd.

BEGNEAUD
Mfg. Inc.
In this edition of
the leader.com, my focus turns to one
of our customers, BEGNEAUD Manufacturing
Inc., a precision sheet metal job shop
and contract manufacturing services company.
During my visit to
their premises in Lafayette, Louisiana
this past September, I was welcomed with
generous hospitality and was treated to
a grand tour of their facility. Of course,
my eyes were looking on the ground for
casters, and it was great to see all of
their workstations, carts, and utility
tables equipped with our Resilex casters.
I was also really impressed to see their
TRUMPF machinery cut, punch, and laser
away!
Don Begneaud knows
all about piping, tubing, precision punching,
laser cutting, and stainless steel welding
and fabricating. BEGNEAUD
manufactures just about anything: control
box components for underwater explorations
to stainless steel reservoirs to drunken
chicken pans. Yes, drunken chicken pans!!
It’s a pan that is used for a Southern
recipe where a chicken is perched on a
beer can (or wine) and cooked on a grill.
I haven’t tried it myself, but I
promise to write about it if I ever do!
I
have included some pictures of their plant
and some of the products that they manufacture.
If you have any metal requirements, don’t
hesitate to call them!
The
crawfish and alligator shown in the picture
are laser-cut and hand-shaped aluminum
critters from the BEGNEAUD
product line FabriCajun.

| We're
moving...
Please note
that we are moving into our new location and that
we will be completely functional as of November
10, 2003.
This move is a big step for
Bleutec as we are leaving Longueuil after 17 years.
We are moving to Brossard, where we will have
more space for our assembly and more square footage
to keep our inventory. We hope that being in Brossard
will not inconvenience those of you who visit
us on a regular basis.
We hope to see you at: 4200
Boulevard Matte, Local B, Brossard, Quebec.
**Please
note that Wheelmax’s Cambridge address and
Bleutec Wheels & Casters’ Rouses Point
address will remain the same.

Sandwich
wheel proves its worth
For almost 10 years now,
we’ve promoted the sandwich wheel. The
unique concept of this wheel, which combines
the advantages of a hard wheel (low starting
effort, possibility to be slid sideways) and
a soft wheel (noise reduction, ability to overcome
obstacles), has been tested by one of our customers
and the results speak for themselves.
Over the past 2 years,
more than 4,000 carts have been set up on sandwich
wheels. Not one wheel has been replaced, in
comparison to the annual 10% of wheels replaced
when a white nylon wheel was set up on the cart.
Our customer has told us about the users’
complete satisfaction and how they now prefer
the sandwich wheel.
The purchase price of the
sandwich wheel is slightly higher than a nylon
wheel, but considering the low wheel replacement
costs over a period of 5 years, we’re
convinced that customers do save money. For
example, savings on the cost of wheel replacements
and labor, and the cost of non-use of a cart
when in repair, which generally leads to a larger
fleet of carts.
It is often difficult
to convince customers of the importance of using
high quality wheels and/or casters, but the
results achieved prove that dollars are saved
in the long run.

| Be
prepared !
You may recall in one of
our previous editions, I mentioned that I would
write about my business trips: how I prepare for
them and how much of a good planner I thought
I was, and bla bla bla…...
Believe
it or not, I thought I had it all figured out.
I thought that traveling for business no longer
had any secrets or surprises for me. " Think
again Fred….’’ No matter how
much you can prepare for business trips, things
CAN go wrong and unfortunately for me, they definitely
went wrong today.
I had planned to write about
how to rent a car, how to easily find your way
and use navigation systems with GPS assitance
in rental cars, how to use certain internet tools
prior to a trip for weather forecasts, hotel reservations,
driving directions and even prospect searches…..
A bunch of nice things to show how easy it really
is to be prepared. Guess what ? If I ever write
a book on my experiences as a sales rep, the FIRST
sentence in that book could be :
WHEN YOU SPEND MONEY FOR
A PLANE TICKET TO NYC., AFTER PREPARING THE TRIP
AND MAKING APPOINTMENTS FOR ABOUT A WEEK, WHEN
GETTING READY TO EXIT THE RENTAL CAR FACILITY’S
LOT ON THE FIRST DAY OF A FOUR DAY TRIP, MAKE
SURE YOU DIDN’T FORGET YOUR DRIVERS LISCENCE
AT HOME, IDIOT !!! ?????????????????????…
How’s that
for an introduction ?
If you want to hear
more about this, don't call me. Please call my
sarcastic colleague Nancy. She will be more than
happy to answer all your questions !
